I enjoyed it very much. Great location, good instruction, a nice group of people, etc. The instructor asked good questions to get a sense of where each of us were at and what we wanted to work on. Felt inspired! It was also a very relaxing experience.

Title or Location: On the Calm Waters
I love painting water, it's my favorite subject for my paintings. I love painting it in all the possible conditions, including ice and snow, rain and fog, ocean waves or just small puddles. This one was painted from a photograph, but I changed the composition a little bit (I have to use my artist license sometimes! -)) On this painting I painted the water surface very calm, so I could enjoy playing with the reflections. This painting was selected by the Circle Gallery in Annapolis for the Stro

I love trees. Walking in the woods always calms my mind, and seeing sunlight streaming through the trees is one of my greatest joys. My twin sister, Patti and I wrote a Indie book series together, called the Tree-Hugger Series. It?s a series geared towards women of all ages and backgrounds. The titles, and story line, include trees:Listen to the TreesMagical Forest MusingsWhispers Under the ChestnutWhile painting the cover for the last book in the series, I discovered a true passion for

Upcycling materials created this acrylic painting / glass mosaic. The wood round was used at someone's wedding and they were getting rid of them, and the glass is broken auto glass from a glass shop. I like to create art on and with used objects to do my part in helping our planet and to show that "trash" is really a treasure.

I used a page from a book my daughter had gotten me: The Bible Promise Book! The drawing is an acetate print by Dina Wakely. I fingerpainted the paper page, trying to guess what color should go where, then glued her face down - and it actually worked!

I was at The Starfish Restaurant when I captured this view on a cold day in Bradenton Florida from the dock behind the restaurant. I was fascinated by the light coming from one of the boats and the gas pump. The photograph helped me to produce this oil painting when I got home in Ohio.

This painting is part of a collection I am working on called the Beautiful Project. The Beautiful Projects lifts up everyday people in our communities doing amazing things. People nominate people in their lives they think are beautiful. Then we sit down and have a discussion about why. They give me a bunch of pictures and I paint the beautiful person and write up a story about what I found that was beautiful about them as I painted. Vivi is beautiful because she never gives up. Title or Location: BLOOM
BLOOM is one of my largest pieces to date, consisting of layers of acrylic paint and marker to create intermingled layers of texture, colour and interest. My artwork as a whole aims to explore beauty and chaos as one and the same in a neurodivergent mind. I have ADHD and my art is a representation of what it's like to be inside my brain. Bright, busy, all at once, all the time. Through this I aim to foster a feeling of belonging and connectedness for people, largely neurodivergent people like me

I have a solo exhibit coming up in September at Gallery 114 in downtown Portland. I wanted to do a new body of work, and since I also like to garden I decided to do abstract florals. It's challenging trying something new, but I love a good challenge!
