The 50mm lens is one of the flexible and useful lenses in any photographer’s gear bag. It is neither a wide-angle or telephoto lens, but allows the camera to see on the same scale as your eye. As such, it can be used for a variety of styles, from landscape and street photography to portrait and product photography. In this meetup, we’ll review the basic camera settings. We’ll then cover some of the advantages of shooting with a prime lens, and some basic techniques to using the 50mm lens. As always, there will be ample opportunities for you to put your new knowledge into practice.

I enjoyed it very much. Great location, good instruction, a nice group of people, etc. The instructor asked good questions to get a sense of where each of us were at and what we wanted to work on. Felt inspired! It was also a very relaxing experience.

I drew my aunt who was not in talking terms with me due to some family issues. I gifted her the drawing for her birthday so that she knows I love her. This gesture made her happy and got me on her good side again.

3 hung, 2 ascend, 1 Lord is a reference to the crucifixion of Jesus the Christ. I am a follower of Christ and my faith is focused on the incredible sacrifice of Jesus. I wanted to express the heaviness of the moment, the story of how , at the moment of certain death, one of the criminals who were also crucified with Jesus, had faith in Christ and consequently joined Him. The other was left to his fate. The piece is an expression of great sadness and gratitude for what that event symbolizes

I wanted to challenge myself and attempted this piece. I had painted other animals but I had never attempted to paint a large cat. Panthers are my favorite so I went for it. I am always learning and challenging myself with more difficult projects. This was so fun to paint and it has inspired me to continue painting more animals in the future.

My new painting In the Midst Of the Golden Sea, oil on panel, 9x12. This is the wheat field I'm driving by to work every day. This year I really wanted to capture it before it's harvested. That tree in the middle is like a guardian watching over the gold It was getting close to sunset time, so the light was especially warm, resting on the yellow-golden fields, reflecting red on the background trees, perfectly contrasting the blue skies. It was such a harmony in colors, that I couldn't resist, an

I was in my studio just playing with paints on a canvas and seeing the blues and the greens, an inspiration came to mind like a flash. My brush works with magic... the fish came to life on my canvas. So came the Fish Tales.

This is Stanley, he is a sweet little dachshund puppy that belongs to a daughter of a friend, Kaela. I needed to find a way to produce a sample artwork but have no pets of my own. Kaela had asked how much it would cost for me to paint her puppies even though she knew she felt she couldn't afford it. Well, I'm glad she did, I'm glad she took interest in my work and I really felt connected to the photo she shared with me of this cute little dog.Well, needles to say, I needed to produce a piece

Here is my A4 drawing of a Siberian Tiger created with prisma colour pencils. The background was intentionally left white in order to empathise and better exhibit the tiger. The piece was first started back in 2016 during my apprenticeship as a tattoo artist. Interestingly it was only finished in 2021 after sitting for almost 5 years. After much impatience and long breaks from art I decided to return to the piece with years later with a renewed optimism and fresh eyes. It was one of my ear
